Add to the Beauty

I heard this song the other day and KNEW that it was exactly what Lilies of the Field is all about. Wouldn't it be great if we could incorporate it somehow?
Even better - Wouldn't it be great if Sara Groves was willing to come sing as a fundraiser for our group?

"We come with beautiful secrets
We come with purposes written on our hearts, written on our souls
We come to every new morning
With possibilities only we can hold, that only we can hold
Redemption comes in strange place, small spaces
Calling out the best of who we are
And I want to add to the beauty to tell a better story
I want to shine with the light that's burning up inside
It comes in small inspirations
It brings redemption to life and work to our lives and our work
It comes in loving community
It comes in helping a soul find it's worth
Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces
Calling out the best of who we are
And I want to add to the beauty To tell a better story
I want to shine with the light that's burning up inside
This is grace, an invitation to be beautiful
This is grace, an invitation
Redemption comes in strange places, small spaces
Calling out our best
And I want to add to the beauty To tell a better story
I want to shine with the light that's burning up inside"

What is Lilies of the Field you ask?

Simply put - Lilies of the Field is a not for profit organization that desires to bring joy and comfort through fresh flowers. Our mission is to speak love to those who have been hurt, abandoned, and forgotten.

We have already spoken with an abused women's shelter here in KC and they are excited to meet with us about our proposal. We have offered to bring fresh flowers to the women on mother's day as well as their personal birthdays. We are hoping to be able to do this for other shelters as well. And we hope that we won't stop there.

We want to take care of those who are forgotten in nursing homes and hospitals. We want to rejoice with those unwed young mothers who decided to keep their child in the face of difficulty and shame. We simply want to acknowledge each and every person and let them know that they are valuable and recognized.

Details

Ideas are great, but things get accomplished because of the details. So, here is a list of details that I will need help accomplishing (hint hint).

Love

I will show you love like I've never loved before
I will go the distance and back for more if you just say the word
'Cause you will come alive again Call the trying times your friend
Pain that you have suffered through Never get the best of you
You will hope in something Won't depend on how you feel
When you call my name then I will answer, answer

Cause I am on your side
Though the wind and waves
Beat against your faith
You were on my mind
When the world was made
Trust in me my child, trust in me my child

Walk out on the water You have no control
Scared of every failure -sacrifice your soul Please let that go
Cause you have climbed an uphill road
You have worn a heavy load
You have cried through endless nights
Nearly giving up the fight
Watched your dreams like fallen stars
Heartache made you who you are
Looking back you see that I have always been there

Cause I am on your side
Though the wind and waves
Beat against your faith
You were on my mind when the world was made
Trust in me, my child, my child

Where you gonna hide, where you gonna hide from me?
Where you gonna go, where you gonna go that I can't see?

Cause I have heard your cry
And it breaks my heart, for I love you so
I will never lie This is not the end There is still a hope

I am on your side
Though the wind and waves
Beat against your faith
You were on my mind
When the world was made
Trust in me, my child, my child....
